Position: Market Development Associate
Location: New York, NY
Type: Full-time, Salaried with Benefits (health, dental & vision), Commission and Significant Stock Options
Reports To: Vice President of Sales and Services
About this Position
OrderGroove is looking for an extraordinarily bright, passionate and entrepreneurial individual to join our team – someone who is not afraid to take on responsibility within our fast-growing organization.
You will initially spend a couple of months in client support, learning about our technology and business, while assisting our sales and marketing teams. After this initial stage, you will then take on your own territory (geographically and/or industry specific), and be responsible for extending our business into this sector. Your responsibilities will include: generating business relationships, sustaining momentum between sales meetings, creating promotional campaigns, and coming up with new marketing and sales strategies.
You must be the type that thrives on challenges and being outside your comfort zone. We are looking for a unique market developer. You must be able to self-start and process hundreds of prospects into leads for our various solutions. Motivation and energy are the name of the game.
You must be very confident in the following:

- Selling high-ROI solutions that will cost clients over $100,000 per year
- Demonstrating the value and ROI behind OrderGroove’s product and services
- Managing the hundreds of prospects in Salesforce.com to accurately and efficiently process all opportunities
- Excelling at qualifying each opportunity properly to ensure the right level of follow through and commitment
- Working with our industry leading partners and Advisory Board to drive mutual benefit and lead generation
- Executing at 110% to achieve your quarterly quota of web meetings generated
The ideal candidate is someone who has experience in processing market development prospects into leads and has experience in both calling and emailing prospects. You MUST be comfortable on the phone and making 30+ calls a day in order to achieve target. If you don’t have this background, you will need to convince us that you have the ability to learn these ropes quickly and bring a perspective that can easily be adapted.
Lastly, it is critical that you are passionate about joining a startup like OrderGroove, not just looking to leave your current job. A startup is not for everyone – we move very fast and you will need to wear many hats. But you will be involved in building something of real value from the ground up and will learn more here in three months than you would at most places in one year. We’re passionate about what we do and are looking for like minded inidividuals to join our team.
Job Requirements
- Bachelors, degree in entrepreneurship is a plus
- A fearless entrepreneurial spirit (not afraid to learn new skills quickly)
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Excellent recommendations (can be from past internships if this will be your first full-time job)
- An outgoing nature and the ability to form advantageous business relationships
- The ability to self motivate and see projects through from concept to completion
- Ability to support your colleagues in their projects, and lead when necessary
- A passion for internet marketing and creative business development
Desired Skills
- Early-stage / startup experience – less than 100 people companywide
- A background in selling or servicing retailers is a plus since you’ll be calling on leading online retailers
- Knowledge of online marketing techniques and technologies
- Lead generation experience
- Able to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Expert of current web/online communication technologies including Microsoft Office products and Salesforce.com
