Overview
The Director of Marketing is a key role in our fast-growing company. Your job will be all about owning OrderGroove’s brand identity, evangelizing Subscription Commerce and positioning OrderGroove as the thought leaders in one of the fastest growing segments of commerce. Our clients include some of the largest brands and retailers in the world and our platform was built to power and service subscription programs for enterprise clients. Your goal is to make OrderGroove top of mind for these companies and position us as the thought leaders and de facto standard for Subscription Commerce as a means of maximizing customer lifetime value. Ultimately, you will be responsible for supporting our sales teams efforts and creating an arsenal of valuable interactions (eg. press releases, case studies, white papers, blog posts) to further promote the value of OrderGroove and Subscription Commerce.
Through working with our PR Team that has deep SaaS and commerce experience, social media, analysts relations, conference and trade show collateral, thought leadership content, case studies, white papers, product collateral and other overall corporate messaging you will have the opportunity to build on the existing wave of Subscription Commerce programs and position Subcom as the next big thing by clearly, effectively and repeatedly communicating OrderGroove’s value.
The ideal candidate has retail and/or direct marketing experience as well as expertise in marketing strategy and B2B program execution to support sales goals and to promote OrderGroove’s brand. You must have a strong social media presence and be very comfortable working with senior level decision makers. Most of all, you must be comfortable working at a fast growing early-stage company with a small team and taking our brand from first-movers to the thought leaders by developing, executing and measuring the effectiveness of OrderGroove’s corporate marketing strategy.
Responsibilities
- Own the OrderGroove brand – develop, manage, maintain and promote the OrderGroove brand both internally and externally and ensuring consistency and accuracy across communications from a tone and style perspective
- Evangelize Subscription Commerce and promote thought leadership
- Devise and execute corporate communications and public relations strategies, managing and working with PR and creative agencies
- Build and maintain an arsenal of case studies and white papers to support our sales team
- Test and measure the impact this arsenal has on sales efforts
- Help drive client participation in press, case studies, and white papers
- Oversee and orchestrate an evangelical and authentic presence at relevant industry events, customer events, and virtual events
- Participate in industry event speaking engagements, panels, etc.
- Maintain corporate web presence, including all design and content
- Develop, manage and promote OrderGroove’s social media presence on Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, etc.
- Develop, manage and promote the OrderGroove blog
- Be an expert on all aspects of OrderGroove’s products and work very closely with the product development team to help create new products that reflect the market opportunity
- Collaborate with internal Product Development and Technical Communication teams to create accurate, effective and creative marketing tools for new and existing products, solutions and enhancements
- Develop, design and distribute various forms of print and electronic marketing material including brochures, data sheets, product updates, announcements, new product launches, play books and technical articles
- Develop KPIs that demonstrate the effectiveness of OrderGroove’s marketing campaigns
- Test and measure the effectiveness of marketing materials, seeking feedback, and optimizing program as needed
- Be an expert on all competitive products and services
- Contribute to market strategy by monitoring market data, competitive products and prospect feedback
Desired Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree with 5+ years marketing experience, specifically in internet marketing, retail marketing, corporate marketing, direct response and analytics
- 3+ years of retail experience working as a retailer
- Strong social media presence including active and frequent blogger and Twitter handle
- Experience managing agencies, PR firms, and analyst relations
- Strong influencing skills and ability to interface effectively with multiple levels of management ranging from C-level corporate executives to other strategic partner companies, demonstrating good business judgment
- Experience and understanding of SaaS software platforms that sell to or service retailers
- Exceptional communication, written and organizational skills
- Ability to internalize and convey any technical concept to a technical audience
- Expert with all Microsoft Office applications
- Expert with Photoshop or similar editing and creation application
- Detail oriented; possess multi-tasking and proactive problem-solving skills
- Experience with online Advertising platforms including Google Adwords
